Good news: we have received written confirmation from Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent AP Diaz that he APPROVED our request to name Maple Leaf Fields #1 & 2 after Will Stacey!

We will post more details about signage and a public celebration once we have them.

This successful campaign would not have happened without the support of you and many others who signed the petition to the city. We also received key support from Seattle City Councilmember Joy Hollingsworth, as well as Councilmembers Cathy Moore and Maritza Rivera.

You can see the final submitted petition here and the public presentations we made on behalf of the proposal here.

Thanks again for your support. We'll be in touch again as soon as we have more details.

The Proposal

We ask the City of Seattle to name “Maple Leaf Reservoir Park Baseball/Softball Fields #1 and #2” as “The Will Stacey Fields at Maple Leaf Park” to honor a local fixture of Seattle youth baseball who gave his life serving as a Marine Corps leader in Afghanistan.
